Berwick Building
Inspections

Which stage inspections a Berwick build actually needs

Matching the visits to a large, engineered home rather than booking all seven by habit.

Berwick 3806 · 12 May 2026

In short: Seven stages exist. On a typical Berwick double storey, three or four of them carry nearly all the risk.

Start with the frame

Engineered framing is where Berwick's major items appear, so it is the first visit to keep.

Then pre-handover

It is your last inspection before you accept the home and pay the final claim.

Add waterproofing for several bathrooms

Each wet area adds a membrane, niche and water stop. One visit before tiling covers them all.

Slab where budget allows

Cover, clearances and chairs are checked once only, before the pour.

Piers on sloping lots

Where the engineering calls for piers, their position against the beams is worth a separate visit.

Lock-up and fixing

Useful on bigger builds, and the stages our Berwick clients rebook most often.
